Definition and Usage
The float property specifies whether or not a box (an element) should float.
Note: Absolutely positioned elements ignores the float property!

Browser Support

The float property is supported in all major browsers.
Note: No versions of Internet Explorer (including IE8) support the property value "inherit".
Property Values

The element is not floated, and will be displayed just where it
occurs in the text. This is default |

Specifies that the value of the float property should be inherited
from the parent element |
