The ownerDocument property returns the root element (document object) for a node.
Syntax
Example
The following code fragment loads "books.xml"
into xmlDoc using
loadXMLDoc() and returns the root element
of the first category attribute node:

x=xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName('book');
