HTML 5 <footer> tag

Definition and Usage

The <footer> tag defines the footer of a section or document. Typically contains the name of the author, the date the document was written and/or contact information.

Differences Between HTML 4.01 and HTML 5

The <footer> tag is new in HTML 5

Tips and Notes

Tip: If you use the footer to insert contact information, you should use the <address> element.
